Curriculum Rationale
(a) acquire a broad knowledge base, and understand contemporary issues that may affect their daily life at personal, community, national and global levels;
(b) become informed and responsible citizens with a sense of national identity and global perspective;
(c) respect pluralism of cultures and views, and become critical, rational, reflective and independent thinkers; and
(d) acquire skills necessary to life-long learning, and be confident in facing future challenges.
Life and Society (From 2-3)
Curriculum Aims
(a) to develop in students a positive self understanding, enhance competence to meet daily and future challenges, and pursue their goals and aspirations;
(b) to enable students to make decisions for the optimal use of personal and community resources;
(c) to develop students to become informed and responsible citizens to contribute to the development of a caring and just society; and
(d) to cultivate in students sensitivity, interests and concern for local, national and global issues.
Citizenship, Economics and Society (From 1)
(a) Cultivate students to value family, adopt a responsible financial attitude, and develop life skills;
(b) Help students understand themselves and their roles and responsibilities in society from the perspective of being a member of society;
(c) While fostering students' national consciousness and teaching the importance of safeguarding national security, also equip them with a global vision to care for the common welfare of humanity.
